Practice makes perfect? I'm not sure, but my 8 year old daughter was playing on the board of a Barbarian as she was having the greatest time of her lives, lol. It all depends on how you look at the game. If you're always seeking to winwinwin, this might not be the ideal choice for you, I mean, unless you're doing that congratulations, but for the most part I've seen players in full red gear ???? taking a couple of steps only to fall down, loosing all their equipment, unless a friend is able to take it from their team. If they're upset, they just shrug and play again.

You started out with nothing. If you are patient enough to understand the mobs, rooms as well as the mechanics of everything else, you'll also be leveling up which makes you stronger. If you die, you'll lose all your progress. So every ... or the number of dungeons to complete 5 levels that you progress, you become a bit stronger with bonuses. Each time you go through these intervals you should've learned something else about the dungeons as well as how things work. It's all about patience.

Pretty sure the slow interactions are an attempt to balancing classes

The less durable classes (except for wizard) require quick interactions in order move quickly or keep a distance. These include the rogue and ranger.

I do think that they've overdid it.. but that doesnt necessarily mean that it's not the best way to interact, for one example, barbarians that have a very low resourcefulness stat to interact with objects have access to the 'Smash' perk, which destroys all unreinforced doors or chests using an axe with two hands.
