What is the best city in Vietnam for foreigners? How does living in HCMC compare to Da Nang or other cities?

I only lived really in Ho Chi Minh City, so my reply might be a bit biased towards HCMC, but I try to give an overview of some cities, which I visited during the last 5 years.
Ho Chi Minh City
I love the mix between tradition and modern, which you can see all over Saigon. Standing in front of the Main Church and seeing Saigon Plaza in the back is just awesome for example.
Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City is really rising. And you can feel it on every corner, from every Xe Om or Sandwich lady. Everybody is eager to do something. And that is just great.
Food is very varied and you can get every food from every country you could think of.
The climate is not too hot, there is always a breeze in the air makes it very endurable to stay here. Only the rainy season is a bit too long and infrastructure is still poor at some corners.
